The Course
Aesthetic Mentoring
This type of experience gives delegates the chance not just to see live treatments in an up-close setting, but also to witness firsthand how a clinic is run, with the ability to ask any questions throughout the day as they arise.
Unlike practical training courses, mentoring and shadowing days offer a wider variety of patients and appointment types, so one day of experience can include everything from initial consultation through to follow up and top up appointments, with clients of varying demographics. The tangible benefits of mentoring and shadowing are innumerable but include unique positive learning experiences like:
- The opportunity to observe every step of the treatment process, including offering aftercare advice to patients.
- Building up confidence in a clinical setting with the help of a world-renowned expert injector.
- Learning how the doctor advises patients on the most appropriate treatments, offering alternatives, and tailoring treatment recommendations to patients’ budget, suitability, and available downtime.
- Developing a working understanding of how paperwork is completed and utilised in a real clinic.
- Having one to one time with the doctor to pose your questions about each step of the process should you have any.

On The Day
Treatment & Models
We usually ask that delegates provide a model for training days, though we understand that this may not be possible for delegates travelling long distances or new practitioners.
Aesthetic mentoring opportunities at PHI College will consist of one day of mentoring with Dr Tapan Patel, the medical director of PHI Clinic on Harley Street. During this day, you will see between 8 and 15 of his patients, as well as having the opportunity to treat your own patient under his supervision. This training opportunity awards 8 CPD points upon successful completion.

What You Need To Bring
We will provide writing materials and pads. You may wish to bring your own tablet or laptop if you prefer to make electronic notes. Please do ensure you charge your device!
All materials for injecting will be provided.
Reading Materials
In terms of pre-course reading, you do not need to worry about spending excessive time preparing as we will go through everything in detail. However, we will provide a few online resources for you to look at in the PHI College online portal. These materials can be found in the ‘My Courses’ section of the website.
